Feather Duster Worm

Scientific Name: Sabellastarte australiensis

Description: Feather Duster Worms build tubes that are usually hidden in crevices, formed out of a tough, parchment-like material. They have a crown of coloured feeding tentacles projecting from their tubes, which can be quickly retracted if disturbed. These worms feed on plankton and detritus filtered from the water.
