Cart-rut Shell
Scientific Name: Dicathais orbita
Description: The Cart-rut Shell has a creamy white shell covered in rut-like grooves around the shell, with a short pointed end. The Cart-rut Shell is an active predator, which can sometimes be seen feeding on other snails, barnacles, mussels, sea squirts, or tube worms. It drills a hole in the shell of its prey and extracts the soft body.
Their eggs can be found attached to the reef. They can live for 20 years.
