Brushtail Possum

Scientific Name: Trichosurus vulpecula
Wadarurrung Name: walert

Description: The Brushtail Possum is the most abundant marsupial possum in Australia, and found across Victoria. It has large pointed ears, grey fur and a bushy black tail.

It prefers to live by itself, and has only a single young in autumn and spring, with the baby riding on the mothers back when around six months of age.
