Ocellate Seastar

Scientific Name: Nectria ocellata

Description: The Ocellate Seastar has a body that ranges in colour from yellow, orange to deep red and is covered by large roundish plates. Another deeper reef species, these seastars are occasionally washed into rockpools. They feed mainly on sponges and ascidians that are covering rocks.
