Description: Feather Stars are a diverse group of echinoderms that have long arms that extend and are used to trap planktonic animals and other drifting material. The base of the animal is often wedged into a rock crevice where it is held in place by strong feet.

The feathery arms of these stars are covered in sticky tentacles to capture food which is then passed down to the animal’s mouth located on the top of the central disc. They feed on detritus and plankton.
