Common Biscuit Star

Scientific Name: Tosia australis

Description: Biscuit Stars have pentagon shaped bodies but lack long arms. Colour patterns vary, and they have six to eight rectangular plates along each edge.

Feeding mainly on sponges, bryozoans and other attached invertebrates, these attractive seastars are occasionally seen in deeper pools.
