Carpet Seastar

Scientific Name: Meridiastra calcar

Description: Carpet Seastars typically have eight short arms and occur in many different colours including orange, blue, green and grey. They can be abundant in some rockpools or beneath rocks, where they are scavengers feeding on most things, from pieces of seaweed to rotting flesh from dead fish.
