Lace Corals

Scientific Name: Tryphyllozoon species

Description: Bryozoans that form beautiful colonies, comprising folded sheets perforated by tiny holes are referred to as Lace Corals and these can grow to quite large sizes in sheltered and deeper waters. They are difficult to identify to species level but are relatively common in the Marine Sanctuary under ledges and in caves.
