Black-faced Cormorant

Scientific Name: Phalacrocorax fuscescens

Description: As the name suggests, this species has a black face. The body is black above and white below and the wings completely black, and in size this species is mid-way between the other two black and white cormorants. The Black-faced Cormorant favours coastal waters and may sometimes be seen resting on the rock platform at low tide. They feed mainly on fish, with some molluscs and crustacea
