CARING FOR BARWON BLUFF MARINE SANCTUARY

There are many ways that you can both enjoy Barwon Bluff Marine Sanctuary while at the same time looking after the habitats, animals and plant that are found in the Marine Sanctuary. By adopting the following behaviours you can help to look after them and yourself.

  • Always replace any organisms or rocks you may have disturbed
  • Keep marine animals and plants moist and cool when observing them
  • Please take your rubbish home - rubbish can harm birds and marine animals
  • Do not feed birds, seals, or other marine life
  • Try to walk or stand on patches of sand or bare rock
  • Stick to established paths to get down to the Marine Sanctuary
  • Remember that the Barwon Bluff Marine Sanctuary is a fully protected area and no animals, plants, shells, sand, seaweed or other materials can be removed.
