Tides
Jigsaw 
The class is divided into 4 groups. Each group is given a section
of the text. The group has to become the experts on the subject. They
read, discuss and clarify the content and then report back to the
whole class. In this way all students become familiar with the entire
text. |

Tides Sequence
Browse the Tidal Comparisons
photo gallery. Using this and the knowledge gained in previous activities
students can write a report on their understanding of tides, draw
a cartoon style representation or make a working model, to demonstrate
their understanding. Students can use drawings or computer software.

questions and discuss. Select a question and once again view the
video and through discussion attempt to answer it. Repeat process

Plants and animals living in intertidal
habitats have to be able to cope with life in and out of water, as
well as the movement of water and waves. Choose one of the intertidal
photo galleries and make a list of the biotic
and abiotic
factors for that habitat.
Now choose plants
and animals that live in that habitat and list the adaptations
they have that allow them to survive in this changing environment.
