Worms / Terebellid Worm tentacles |
|
There are more than
1000 species of worms found in marine and coastal environments in Victoria
. Most of them are rarely noticed but there are some species that form
massive colonies such as the tube worm Galeolaria. |
| Phylum: Annelida | Class: Polychaeta | Species: Eupolymnia sp. |
| Terrebellid Worms have large segmented bodies which are normally buried in sediment or as in this case hidden in a crack in the rock. Their long sticky tentacles stick to particles of food, which then move along narrow mucous filled grooves to the mouth. | ||
