Cnidarians / Anemone (closed) This group of animals all possess tentacles
that are armed with specialised stinging cells, used for capturing small
animals used for food. |

| Phylum: Cnidaria | Class: Anthozoa | Species: Oulactis mucosa |
| Anemones are carnivores that capture food with sticky tentacles. Many southern Australian anemones also have symbiotic algae living inside their tentacles that assist in providing energy for the animals. When out of water, Anemones withdraw their tentacles in order to reduce water loss from their soft bodies. | ||
